What is Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal and how does it work?
Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal works by penetrating the epidermis, or top layer of the skin with a specific wavelength of light that targets to reach the dermis underneath in where the hair follicle resides.
Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal uses a chilled lens which cools the skin before, during, and after the light pulse, that will give a slight sting or pinch sensation, similar to the snap of a rubber band. Used in conjunction with our protective cold gel, any discomfort or reaction caused by Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal is reduced even further.
Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal, also known as photo epilation, specifically targets the follicle during the growth stage, destroying, or severely limiting its regrowth capacity.
As at any given time different follicles may be either dormant or active, several treatments are required to effectively cover the treated area.
A highly advanced computer regulates the wavelength of light being emitted by the Intense Pulse Light, administering the correct exposure safely to any area, from large sections such as the back or legs, to the more delicate and sensitive areas of the lips, and face.
Unlike traditional methods, Intense Pulse Light leaves the surface of the skin undamaged, it also enhances the bodies own natural production of Collagen which inturn improves the condition of the skin.
Traditional treatments have had limited effect on lighter hair shades, however by combining the treatment with Meladine to give the hair pigment, all hair colours can be treated safely with Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal technology.
Treatment times and exposures may vary depending on the area being treated, hair colour and pigmentation of the skin. Prior to commencing treatment, all clients must have an initial pre-treatment to ascertain the correct level of exposure for their skin type, and to prepare the skin for the following treatment 24 hours later.
Although the number of treatments required will vary from client to client, typically Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal is a progressive process, hair reduction increases with each treatment you have, to ensure that you get the very best results from Intense Pulse Light we recommend a minimum of 4 treatments at five week intervals.
Your Image by Laser consultant will be happy to discuss with you your individual needs and requirements, and expectations and outcomes of the Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal treatments.
For best results it is imperative that once regrowth appears (approximately 5 weeks after the initial treatment) that it is treated immediately.
Costs vary depending on the duration of treatment required and the size of the treatment zone.
There are several important steps that you can take to get the best result possible from your Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal session. By following the steps below you can ensure that maximise your results, while minimising any potential discomfort. Your consultant will be available to guide you through this process should you require any further specific instruction. Avoid sun exposure by using spf 30+ total block out sunscreen for 4 weeks prior to your treatment, and 2 weeks afterwards, as melanin, or skin pigment stimulation can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
The area to be treated must be either shaved, or creamed 24 hours prior to the treatment so that the hair will be at the ideal treatment length of 1mm.
After Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal, keep the treated area clean and cool, and minimise your exposure to the sun.

I would like to know about the cost of laser hair removal for both whole legs
Dear Members of Forums!
I have south-europinian type of body(many dark hair everywhere). I tried electrolytes hair removal in so called “brasilian” aria for pure hygienic reason. Size of skin less then one my palm threated twice 13hours(cost A$1700). Result is miserable–after 2 weeks hair are growing again, although less, but necessary remove again. I had been consulted in the Technical College, and had been explained, that no absolutely method removing hair forever exist and only solution= permanent treatment:hair reduction growing with product well known in supermarkets , then hot shower, or bath , or sauna ,or steam room, and then waxing. And make it periodically as normal hygienic procedure. My experience of electolyte haire removal was painful (32 needles) with sessions about 3 hours each, non-stop. I wish all of you well consider my experience.
Your friendly-victor- 69 years old pensioner.
What all hair permanent hair removal systems nowadays have in common: the treatment hurts as much as - lets say - treatment with an electric depilator. But the good thing is: every treatment it gets better and at the end there is no hair left
I had the IPL with Levulan. It is a gel stick that is applied to your face, you sit for an hour, than the laser is done. The Levulan increases the effectiveness of the IPL (and, supposedly makes the side affects worse). I have had 2, one per year. I am 51 years old and still break out. This treatment totally helped my breakouts as well as getting rid of brown spots, redness, and best of all wrinkles.
I get Botox, N-Lite, Perlane/Restylane and IPL. My skin is awesome and people think I am 20 years younger. 3 of my friends and I have gotten the IPL with Levulan on the same day. NONE of us have had anything worse than blotchy, red skin that lasts for a couple of days. I am thinking that it is the person who is wielding the laser that might be the reason people have had bad experiences. Yes, it is a little painful, but nothing like the reviews I read.
I TOTALLY trust where I go, I have had numerous friends who have had procedures done there, including one who had a full face lift and a chemical peel (FABULOUS results). I think the key is finding a place that has the right practitioners who really know what they are doing with every aspect of whatever one chooses to do. Lasers are really complex pieces of equipment and whomever is using it MUST know how to use it and at what intensity to use it at.
I am getting a Titan laser treatment (my first) on Saturday, along with my third year IPL with Levulan treatment (2 of my friends are getting the IPL too), and I can’t wait to see the results of the Titan. I will post a review of that.
