Review - Brad Callen’s Article Submitter Software a waste of my time

June 8th, 2007

Brad Callen’s Article Submitter Software is a waste of my time. I just got an e-mail from Brad Callen of SEO elite fame. He’s promoting a piece of software called Article Submitter.

I’ve downloaded and installed it and I have found it to be a waste of my time.

The free version has 100 article directories in its database. The $67 version has over 700 directories in its database.

The only good thing I can say about this software is that it gave me the names of some high PR article sites that I wasn’t aware of. If you’ve got an hour or so to burn, give it a go.

If you truly want to automate the article submission process, get yourself a macro recorder like Hot Keyboard Pro. It’s cheaper than Article Submitter and a lot faster and you can see what’s going on and know that your article got submitted.

Note that I gain no benefit from mentioning Hot Keyborad Pro. It’s great software that I use every day for a wide variety of SEO tasks.

The trouble with the dedicated automatic article submission bits of software is they take forever to respond to what’s happening on the page. If the page changes, they get very confused.

Using Hot Keyboard Pro, I can submit an article to 3 different sites per minute without error. Here’s a screencast showing the process.

I personally love Brad’s Article Submitter. It appears you’ve done this blog post to promote your own product.

Good for you. I’m pleased it works for you. I’ve done this post to share my opinion and I do not make any money out of mentioning Hot Keyboard Pro. I expect other macro recording programs are equally as good.

why put the linked promotion page of the articlesubmitter….?

So people will know what I’m talking about. It also gives them the opportunity to download it themselves and try it out for free.

I’d bought Brad Callen’s SEO Elite and it’s never worked the way it’s supposed to: searches on Alexa ended up giving me more info. I tried the free version of Brad Callen’s Article submitter and like you, I found it a waste of time. I thought it was my fault because I am not technically savvy. I’ll try the hot keyboard pro but will probably just submit articles manually.

Thanks for the demo of Hot KeyBoard. I am in the middle of trying to decide on which article submitter to use. I have the free download of Brad’s software. I am concerned that this and other similar submitters seem to assume that I can send ONE article out to all the article directories. This seems counter to the concerns about content flooding that will aggravate Google’s spiders.

I note that you use about 11 directories. Do you submit the ONE article to all eleven? Or do you tweak the articles so they are slightly different? If the latter, do you have any knowledge of Unique Article Wizard? Is this a good way to go?

    Thanks
    Jim

Yes I submit the same article to multiple (10 - 20), directories. The reason is:

    1. To make sure Google indexes one of them

    2. Google often sees the articles as different because the page structure and surrounding text is different.

Sometimes I do change the title and some words to mix it up a bit.

I don’t like automated submitters because there are plain sh*t. I have been using iMacros in my firefox browsers which is very handy to perform many of my daily routine work.
